I Love This Husband & Wife Stuff

365 THINGS I LOVE ABOUT BEING MARRIED!

#335: Movie Mondays – Pride and Glory April 30, 2012

Year: 2008

Genre: Crime/Drama/Thriller

Description from http://www.IMDb.com: A saga centered on a multi-generational family of New York City Police officers. The family’s moral codes are tested when Ray Tierney, investigates a case that reveals an incendiary police corruption scandal involving his own brother-in-law. For Ray, the truth is revelatory, a Pandora’s Box that threatens to upend not only the Tierney legacy but the entire NYPD.

Wife: I like crime shows.  Being a Law & Order, this was right up my alley.  Although I thought it was a god movie, I had a hard time liking it.  The subject was disturbing and sometimes hard to watch.  I like Ed Norton and thought he did a great job.  It was a little long but maybe it just felt that way because we started it too late!

Husband:  It was a good film but I found it to be disturbing.  I was happy with the outcome.

Vacations are especially fun with hubby.  We have a few planned this year.  We have a weekend and a week at the beach (2 separate trips).  We have a long weekend visiting relatives in West Virgina.  We have a Thanksgiving trip to visit my husband’s brother.  And we have Christmas in Denver with my brother and his family.

Things that would be run of the mill done alone are brighter when I’m with my husband.  Everything is fun – even grocery shopping.  Even going to the dump!

There is one person who knows what’s going on with me, my husband.  He knows how work is going, how home is going, how my health is, whether I’ve been sleeping well, exercising, in a good mood.  He knows exactly what’s going on in my life.

#328: Movie Mondays – Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy April 23, 2012

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (film)

Year: 2011

Genre: Drama/Mystery/Thriller

Description from http://www.IMDb.com: In the bleak days of the Cold War, espionage veteran George Smiley is forced from semi-retirement to uncover a Soviet agent within MI6.

Wife: I get the feeling the book was excellent.  The movie? Not so much.  The acting was spectacular but it was hard to follow the story.  There were too many languages, characters, and points in time.  It was confusing and slow.  I watched until the end just so I could figure out if there was a mole and if so who it was.  At the end, I couldn’t tell you if there was one.  My advice, read the book!

Husband: I didn’t even bother to ask husband what he thought.  He watched only an hour then gave up.  He said it was slow and boring and said Lamo (as in lame) about 15 times during that hour.
