Husband and I were walking to the club one day. I was talking about my post about him being CEO of our family. I realized that I made a mistake and had 2 CTOs (Chief Transportation Officer and Chief Technology Officer). I told my husband and he said, “That’s OK.”

“You say that like it’s not important,” I said.

“It’s OK. It’s a blog. It’s not like it will be on the news.”

He helps me not take myself too seriously and always makes me laugh. I’m laughing now as I type this.

Vacations are especially fun with hubby. We have a few planned this year. We have a weekend and a week at the beach (2 separate trips). We have a long weekend visiting relatives in West Virgina. We have a Thanksgiving trip to visit my husband’s brother. And we have Christmas in Denver with my brother and his family.

Wife: This movie is really about the maid of honor and it is more about friendship than marriage. But I’m a sucker for wedding movies so there you have it. It was very funny. I love Maya Rudolph, she is so naturally funny, earthy and quirky. The themes of the movie are friendship, believing in yourself, loving yourself, and competition between friends. Kristen Wiig‘s character is so very likeable. Melissa McCarthy‘s character is crude but hilarious. (Warning: there are definitely some unladylike scenesand foul language in this movie). However, very funny movie.

Husband: I thought it was hilarious at times and contrived at others. Melissa McCarthy stole the show. She was the funniest but was not the focus of the movie. This movie was better than The Hangover.

Husband-Wife Compatibility Rating: 8 (Wife gave it a 10, husband gave it a 6).

Wife: I loved it. I had forgotten it was a Woody Allen movie but was reminded by the opening shots. Allen clearly loves Paris the way he loves New York. It’s an enchanting story – funny, beautiful, romantic. Owen Wilson was great. A magical story about Paris in the 20s. Kathy Bates is a perfect Gertrude Stein.

Husband: It was creative. I liked the cameos by historical figures.

Husband-Wife Compatibility Rating: 7 (Wife gave it a 9, Husband a 5. It was romantic enough for Wife but not funny enough for husband).

Wife: This was a very scary and creepy movie. It had an old-fashioned feel to it. This movie was produced by Guillermo del Toro who also produced Pan’s Labyrinth – another great movie. I am not a big fan of horror but this was really horror-lite. I do love thrillers though. My husband loves both horror an thrillers which probably explains our high compatibility rating. The little creatures were terrifying. Very enjoyable in a scary way!

Husband: Great! A very creative scary movie. Katie Holmes did a nice job.

My husband is not a morning person. Understatement. I am. One morning as we were walking to the car to go to work, I started looking around in the yard.

“How many of these little bushes did we get from the nursery?” I said.

“Three,” he said.

“But isn’t that one too?” I said.

“I don’t know,” he said.

“That’s a mum. I’ll have to cut that back,” I said.

Then I looked at the side yard.

“Look. Grass is starting to come up. Or maybe that’s moss. Do you think that’s moss?” I said.

“I don’t know. It’s too early for a botanical quiz.” He said.

Have you seen the Ronald karaoke Geico commercial? If you haven’t you should.

Anyway, the other morning my husband Walter started singing the Ronald song. He was cracking me up. A few minutes later I said, “Sing the Ronald song again.” He said, ” You’re always asking me to do things. Sing this song. Make this sound. Do this. Do that. I’m like, no. You’re always wanting to watch the Walter show.”

Well, yes! Of course I am. When you have a husband as funny as mine, you want to watch he Walter Show all – day - long. He’s my favorite show!

Last weekend my husband and I rejoined our old club. We left about a year ago because we moved 30 minutes away. We’re back! It turns out that there wasn’t a better place for us closer, for that price. We love our club. It’s got tennis for my husband and lots of fun things for me like swimming, water aerobics classes, Zumba, and yoga. And of course those yucky old weights I should be lifting. We signed up again last weekend and we’ve been nearly every day! My goal is to go every day but at the very least: Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Wish us luck!
